How to get Virtual Queue for Haunted Mansion Holiday
Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland is re-opening a full month earlier than expected - on July 29th!
While the rest of the newly reimagined exterior queue is being finished, guests will need use the Disneyland app to request to enter the attraction.
A standby line will not be available at this time.
Here’s everything you need to know to get a Boarding Group number for Haunted Mansion Holiday. Plus, some of my best pro tips!
Before Your Visit
Choose one person in your group who will request to join the virtual queue. Let’s have it be you since you’re here reading the tips.
Link everyone in your groups ticket to your Disneyland app account.
Practice the steps in the pro tips below a few times so your fingers are fired up and ready to go. Count how many seconds it takes for your app to refresh.
*Know that each guest can only request to enter this virtual queue once per day and a theme park reservation for each person is needed.
On the Day of your Visit
There will be two times when you can request to join the virtual queue for Haunted Mansion Holiday:
7:00 am - Guests with a reservation for Disneyland Park with either a one-park ticket or a Park Hopper ticket can request to join. (You do NOT need to be in the park or on Disneyland property.)
12:00 pm - Guests inside California Adventure with a Park Hopper ticket or inside Disneyland Park can request to join. (You MUST be in one of the two parks.)
Cathy’s Pro Tips
5 minutes before you request to join:
- Ensure you are logged into your account.
- If you are logged into Disneyland Wi-Fi, turn it off. It gets bogged down with tons of people accessing it at once.
- From the homepage of the app, click “Join Virtual Queue”.
- Check that Disneyland is selected and you can see Haunted Mansion Holiday.
- On either a smart watch or another person’s device, use a clock that shows the time with seconds.
- When the time is a few seconds before 7am or 12pm, refresh the app so that the “Join Virtual Queue” button turns blue at exactly 7am or 12pm. For example, my phone takes 3 - 4 seconds to refresh, so I would pull down on the screen at 6:59:57am or 11:59:57am.
- Select everyone in your group and click “Join Virtual Queue” at the bottom of the screen again.
(*I did not have park reservations when this virtual queue started being offered. When you get to this page you will see everyone who’s ticket is linked to your account. Either select all or the individuals you’re getting the queue for)
You’ll get a boarding group number and will receive a notification when it’s your turn to head over. You have an hour to return, so don’t stress but also don’t show up too late as you may note be allowed access.
You can check in to see if your group is getting close by clicking the “Join Virtual Queue” button from the app’s homepage.
You’ll also see the estimated wait time. Yes! It really will be a few hours. That’s why Virtual Queue is great. You can enjoy lots of other attractions while also waiting your turn for Haunted Mansion Holiday.
*If you miss out at 7am, don’t worry. You can try again at noon, which tends to be a bit easier to get since a big chunk of people already got their Boarding Group number for the day.
