You know me—I live and breathe Disney. ✨ But sometimes, even the biggest Disney fans are ready for a different kind of magic. That’s why I was so excited to spend a few days exploring Sandals Dunn’s River in Jamaica—and let me tell you, it was every bit as deluxe as a Disney resort stay (think Grand Floridian or Riviera vibes!)
From the moment I arrived, I felt completely cared for: a refreshing towel, a beautiful arrival lounge, and being personally escorted to my room. After a full travel day, it felt like the warmest “welcome home.”
The resort itself is stunning—modern, elegant, and just the right size. It’s small enough to feel intimate, but still spacious and easy to explore. I especially loved how each restaurant has its own unique décor (truly Disney-level theming!). Every meal felt like stepping into a different world, and the Rum Club is not to be missed.
And as a California native who’s only ever swum in the Pacific Ocean I assure you the Caribbean is as heavenly and refreshing as you imagine. 10/10 must-do!
One of the highlights? Sandals went above and beyond to arrange a private glass-bottom boat tour for our group outside of normal hours—the kind of thoughtful touch that makes a trip unforgettable.

Sandals Golf & Country Club – gorgeous greens, sweeping views, and even a fun ride through the course on golf carts while learning about Jamaica’s native trees and plants. 🌴
Of course, the real pixie dust came from the people. The staff are some of the friendliest and most genuinely hospitable I’ve ever met—they made every guest feel special, and there were thoughtful refreshments at every gathering.
